Install

Get shipctl onto your machine and verify it works.

Requirements

Install script

The quickest path on macOS and Linux:

curl -fsSL https://get.shipctl.dev/install.sh | sh

The script detects your OS and architecture, downloads the matching binary, and places it in ~/.local/bin.

Package managers

Homebrew

brew install shipctl/tap/shipctl

npm

npm install -g @shipctl/cli

Cargo

cargo install shipctl

Manual binary download

Download a release archive, extract it, and move the binary onto your PATH:

tar -xzf shipctl_2.4.0_linux_amd64.tar.gz
sudo mv shipctl /usr/local/bin/

Verify the installation

$ shipctl --version
shipctl 2.4.0 (commit 8f3c2a1, built 2024-05-02)
Note: if your shell reports command not found, make sure ~/.local/bin is on your PATH.

Shell completion

shipctl completion zsh > "${fpath[1]}/_shipctl"
shipctl completion bash > /etc/bash_completion.d/shipctl

Uninstall

rm "$(command -v shipctl)"
rm -rf ~/.config/shipctl
